Origin & Preferences from AEB lets you take advantage of the benefits and opportunities EU, UK and Swiss free trade agreements. Save money on customs duties and help your customers do the same – making your products more competitive in the process. The Origin & Preferences software from AEB ensures you have the necessary proofs and helps you reliably assess the preferential status of your own products and those you purchase in different locations.
Origin & Preferences finds out whether your company can take advantage of a specific preferential agreement. Determining whether a product qualifies for preferential origin and can therefore be imported into the country of destination under preferred conditions is extraordinarily complex, as it depends on the interaction of numerous rules. The software knows all the terms of EU, UK and Swiss preferential agreements and takes them into account. Detailed documentation ensures that you can always provide the necessary information to customs authorities and your own customers.
Origin & Preferences uses existing data to calculate the minimum sales price you must obtain for your goods to preserve the preferences. The recommended sales price may vary significantly by country and agreement due to the varying rules of origin. Origin & Preferences takes all that into account. So you can actually benefit from your competitive advantages.
Has the agreement already come into force? Which rules apply to which product? Origin & Preferences incorporates a data service provided by AEB in partnership with respected content providers, so you can count on rules of origin that are always up to date.
Origin & Preferences makes it easy to manage your preference documents and especially your supplier’s declarations. Automate the process of requesting (long-term) supplier’s declarations, eliminating the tedious task of doing this manually. You can always see at a glance whether your supplier has already submitted a declaration. Our portal solution Supplier Declaration Exchange streamlines the process even further, letting your suppliers manage their declarations online – eliminating any unnecessary manual input on your part and validating the data as soon as it is entered.
As you prepare to run a preference calculation, you can painstakingly track down all the data you need and make sure it’s up to date. Or you can use Origin & Preferences and simply have the relevant data analyzed while you process your goods receipts, purchase orders, sales orders, and bills of materials. The preparation of the data for calculation and the calculation itself can be automated up to 100 percent.
Whether you’re working with a value-based rule of 30 or 40 percent, an item change, a combination of various rule components, minimal operations, mixed origin, current purchase price, or worst-case purchase price – the software always provides the correct results.
To use Origin & Preferences, you need to integrate it into your processes and data structures. The API makes seamless integration into your IT environment a snap. We also provide you with ready-to-use plug-ins for your SAP® system. This makes it possible to print the origin texts in SAP® on your invoices and check the preferential status of your materials right away. The software always takes into account all the necessary underlying data, from the purchase order to the goods receipt, from the bill of materials to the customer order, in its current form.
With the licensed data service from Bundesanzeiger Verlag, the agreements are automatically updated in the system. Otherwise, the rules must be input and updated manually.
A long-term supplier’s declaration (LTSD) can be issued for a period of up to two years. This depends on the date of issue. The period of validity must be noted on the LTSD. A declaration can also be issued with retroactive effect. This process is described in the implementing provisions 2015/2447 and satisfies the requirements of the Union Customs Code. Origin & Preferences lets you define all permissible periods of validity.
You can update transaction data by re-importing it. Master data can also be updated through a fresh import – or manually edited if this option is enabled in the settings.
"Making good use of preferential agreements in global supply chains can greatly increase competitiveness. But the administrative efforts this involves is holding many companies back from reaping the benefits. Origin & Preferences makes life much easier."
