Shared space: from briefing to dream team

As a Project Manager, you’ll handle logistics, customs, and digital operations for customers — or work on our own development projects. You have an eye for successful project design, and with each new project your skills and expertise grow. You’ll host briefing workshops, write project profiles, and help in the implementation — tapping into your subject matter expertise or technical skills.

Space to maneuver: environment and role

How will you organize your project? In whatever way you and your team work most effectively. You decide together which methods, tools, and skills you’ll use to make the project a success. It's always an option to lean towards projects that align with your passions, too.

However you design your space at AEB: You’re always more than “just” a Project Manager. And working with a broad spectrum of experts will help you build up your skillset and hone your expertise.

“I joined AEB as an IT trainee when we were still really small. Just as AEB has developed since then, I have also had the opportunity to develop at my own pace. It’s not a case of faster, higher, stronger – it’s about expanding my radius of responsibility and taking a break when I need more resources for other areas of my life.

The two subjects close to my heart in recent years have been employee development and streamlining internal digital operations.”

“With each project, I get to know new people and characters who make project management exciting for me. Every customer has its own unique IT ecosystems and processes, so my day-to-day work is rich in variety and always offers new challenges. That’s what makes my work stimulating.

One personal highlight was being invited to visit a customer in Oslo to see their site and logistics processes. We had previously rolled out an entire system environment to India for the same customer. That was a fun project – and they immediately followed up with a new project request.”

Questions? We’ve got answers.

What does a typical day as a Project Manager at AEB look like?

That’s up to you, depending on how you work best. But one thing’s for sure: You’ll be in direct dialog with the other people involved in the project, from developers to subject matter experts to the customers themselves. Maybe it’s time to write a project profile or plan a retrospective. Maybe a customer workshop is coming up, or a go-live is just around the corner.

What kind of experience should I bring to the table?

You should have familiarized yourself with the different project types and methodologies — during your studies or on-the-job training, through self-study, or in your prior work experience. But we don't adhere to any official “school”: We rarely have textbook scrum projects or the perfect waterfall. The only thing that matters is that our projects must run smoothly for the customer. To achieve this, you’re welcome to mix and match.

Who makes decisions?

At AEB, you’ll fill different roles that require a certain level of expertise and skills and that provide you with space to make your own decisions. In many instances, you’ll pool your perspectives and make decisions as a team.
