That’s a difficult question, because we have space for so many different characters, specialists, out-of-the-box thinkers, big-picture people, doers, and designers. Whether you’re a whiz at exports and customs or have a passion for writing code, streamlining processes, talking to customers, designing fantastic websites, developing talent, or building IT infrastructure: What matters is that you feel drawn to our culture and values. Our Common Ground is a collection of values and principles that guide us in our interactions with one another and with customers. Autonomy, trust, and purpose are just three of them. The purpose of our various locations is to offer a good space for people to come together. Teams and communities often work together across locations, however. So you are welcome to send an open application to a location near you or apply for any open position, even if a different location is specified. Search engines or job portals sometimes make it necessary to specify one location, even though we’re actually flexible on that point.

A 5-star rating is not what we’re striving for. We aim to be fair and open — and above all, do a really good job. We are constantly refining our working environment, and naturally, there’ll always be a few hiccups here and there. But that does not deter us from our ongoing transformation or from iterative improvement. Last but not least: When you work for us, all of this is also your creative space.

In our search for a phrase that captures what working at AEB is all about, we spoke with colleagues and reviewed feedback from platforms such as Kununu (a German review website). One word kept coming up: space. It caught us off guard at first, and then it made perfect sense. Different variations of the term were mentioned, all describing the AEB work environment: space to grow, space to shape, space to make an impact. That’s how the line “Your space to set things in motion” came about.

For us, it reflects the most important aspect of working at AEB: the opportunity, as well as the courage and drive, to fully contribute. To think things through, to think ahead, and in doing so, to grow both personally and as a company. It perfectly captures the kind of people we’re looking for and what we offer in return. Because those who want to shape their own space will find it at AEB. That’s our promise and our ambition.
