The solution is suitable for use with SAP Extended Warehouse Management. In addition, FIS/PackingCenter also supports shipping and packing processes in SAP ERP and SAP Cloud ERP. This allows companies to implement a uniform, process-guided packing interface across various SAP system environments.
FIS/PackingCenter guides employees at the packing station through the packing and shipping preparation process. The application clearly displays worklists, packing data, and packing structures, and supports the processing of handling units directly within the active workflow.
AEB Carrier Cloud is integrated into FIS/PackingCenter. This supplements the packing solution with multi-carrier shipping. More than 300 parcel services and forwarders are connected to the platform. Shipping orders are transmitted to the selected transport service provider, carrier-specific shipping labels are generated, and tracking information is made available for downstream processes.
This creates a seamless process encompassing everything from accessing the delivery through packing and carrier commissioning to the printed shipping label.

How does the packing and shipping process work with FIS/PackingCenter and AEB Carrier Cloud?
1. Access the delivery to be packed
Employees access the relevant warehouse or shipping transaction in FIS/PackingCenter.
The required information from SAP EWM or the connected SAP environment is thus available directly at the packing station.
2. Process products and packing structure
PackingCenter provides a clear overview of the products to be packed as well as the existing packing structure.
Employees can see which products have already been packed, which still need to be processed, and how items, cartons, pallets, and other packaging levels fit together.
3. Create and process handling units
During the packing process, handling units can be created, edited, and nested.
The solution supports various packing methods, such as:
- Complete packing
- Partial packing
- Cross-delivery packing
- Multi-level packing structures
Last-minute changes can also be accommodated in the ongoing process without having to restart the entire workflow.
4. Determine carrier and shipping service
For the completed consignment, the designated parcel service or forwarder is selected along with the required shipping service.
Depending on the process, the transport service provider and shipping service may already be specified by SAP data or predefined rules, or they may be selected at the packing station.
5. Transmit shipping order to AEB Carrier Cloud
FIS/PackingCenter transmits the required consignment and package data to AEB Carrier Cloud.
AEB formats the information according to the selected transport service provider's specifications and electronically transmits the shipping order to the carrier.
6. Create and print shipping labels
AEB generates the carrier-specific shipping label and makes it available for printing at the packing station.
Label printing can be triggered automatically upon completion of the packing process. Packing completion and shipment preparation thus form a cohesive processing step.
7. Provide status and tracking information
Relevant carrier responses can be made available in the subsequent process.
This provides logistics, sales, and customer service teams with a transparent overview of the shipment status and enables them to respond more quickly to inquiries about shipments.
