Managing Director

Matthias Kiess is currently focused on marketing and implementing bespoke customer solutions on the nEXt platform. He is also pushing for the adoption of new methodologies and agile approaches and working on the issues of organization, collaboration, and leadership.

Markus Meissner

Managing Director

As Managing Director, Markus Meissner is responsible for the strategic orientation of the product portfolio and for product development at AEB. His responsibilities also include the company’s internationalization strategy.

Ulrich Lison

Member of the Board of Directors

Dr. Ulrich Lison is responsible for product strategy in the area of global trade. He drives innovative product ideas and, as part of the AEB Corporate Startup, also thinks outside the box to elevate customs and compliance software to a new level.

Maria Meissner

Member of the Board of Directors

Maria Meissner serves as Head of Finance with a personal emphasis on planning, finance, and management accounting. She has been with the company since 1995. She takes a special interest in AEB’s employees, financial security, and independence.

Jochen Günzel

Jochen Günzel studied aerospace engineering and began working at AEB back in 1984 while he was still a student. He later served for many years as Managing Director. As a member of the Board of Directors, he now oversees all aspects of the company’s growth and expansion. His current work in progress: AEB’s new headquarters and new software platform.

Jonny Dambrowsky

Jonny Dambrowsky began as a software engineer before transitioning into quality and product management. For over 30 years, his passion has been AEB products and the people who imagine and develop them, then work with customers to make them even better.

Martin Setzler

Agility and stability are not mutually exclusive, in his view. Martin Setzler drives digital transformation at AEB and ensures that customers derive added value through and with AEB solutions. As a member of the Board of Directors, he is responsible for services, IT, and internal communications.

Dr. Yvonne Gaissmaier

Chair of the Advisory Board

Yvonne Gaissmaier is Director of Commercial Excellence at Amcor in Zurich. In her previous management positions at Novelis and LSG Sky Chefs, among others, she gained broad experience in key account management, sales, and supply chain management in many parts of the world. Dr. Gaissmaier is also an active member of the Business Network for Women in Top Management.

Dr. Torsten Mallée

Vice Chair of the Advisory Board

Torsten Mallée has been with AEB since 2004 and has been a shareholder since 2012. Currently, he is Director International Business Development of AEB SE. Previous positions included those of General Manager of AEB (Asia Pacific) and Chair of the Board of AEB GmbH. Dr. Mallée is a member of the Board of BVL International.

Christian Altvater


Christian Altvater has been with AEB since 1995 and has been a shareholder since 2013. As a Senior Project Manager and a longtime member of the management team of the solutions area of AEB SE, he was responsible for complex customs projects for major customers. Recently, Christian Altvater has assumed management responsibilities in the customs product area. He also was a member of the Board of AEB GmbH.

Dr. Christian Jacobi


Christian Jacobi is the Managing Partner of agiplan GmbH and an expert in factory planning, production and process optimization, logistics, and industrial architecture. Dr. Jacobi also is the Chairman of the Management Board of EffizienzCluster Management GmbH and a member of the Board of of BVL International.

Prof. Henning Vöpel


Henning Voepel is CEO at the Hamburg Institute of International Economics and a professor at the Hamburg School of Business Administration. Prof. Voepel has excellent knowledge of new technologies and the start-up scene, a wide international network, and is an expert in business cycle analysis, financial markets, and the digital economy.
