License Management: Keep tabs on all your export licenses

You can manage the licenses for export transactions and movement transactions.

• Apply for export licenses and submit usage reports – via ELANK-2 (Germany), for example, or via SPIRE (United Kingdom)
• Specify approved or excluded countries and administer validity periods of licenses
• Specify approved or excluded country groups
• Manage status of licenses ( “Applied for”, “Active”, or “Withdrawn”, for example)
• Documents such as end-user undertakings that are needed to apply for or use the license can be managed in the license

You can have your licenses monitored with reference to validity, approved amounts or quantity, and approaching expiration dates of required documents.

• Monitor approaching expiration date
• Monitor license items from which a defined percentage of the approved amount or quantity has already been decremented
• Monitor main approvals (approvals of order items, for example) from which a defined percentage of the approved amount or quantity has already been decremented through partial approvals (approval of delivery line items of the order item, for example)
• Monitor absence or approaching expiration of a required document (end-user undertaking, for example)
• Define one or more persons to be notified by email in case any of these events occurs
• Monitor licenses that require conditions to be met and configure reminders for conditions

If you have linked a host system, you can transfer document codes and custom content for shipping documents to your transactions.

• Manage document codes for customs declarations in licenses
• Transmit document codes in electronic customs declarations to customs authorities through a host system
• Define custom content or statements that can be applied through the host system to the shipping documents – for example, “Shipment contains dual-use goods.”

You apply or decrement licenses based on approvals and keep track of amounts or quantities.

• Get suggestions for potentially applicable licenses during the export control check
• If you have linked a host system such as SAP^® with the Export Controls and License Management add-ons, then the approval unblocks the items of a blocked document

When licenses or approvals are created, edited, or deleted, these changes are logged. Changes to the master data are also logged. Corresponding log entries are archived in the AEB cloud.

• Germany: Submit applications for export licenses and movement authorizations and manage the required communication with BAFA
• Germany: Compile semi-annual reports to BAFA for general licenses with reporting procedure and for collective export licenses
• United Kingdom: Use specific functionality for export licenses such as SIEL, OIEL, or OGEL, for example
• United Kingdom: Define specific values in licenses such as sector of business partner or country, “end-user type” of business partner, and codes for the export declaration to customs in the NES procedure
• US ITAR: Use specific functionality for export licenses such as for the agreements TAA, MLA, and WDA and for the traditional licenses (DSP)
