Case study
DELO, a specialist for industrial adhesives, has worked with AEB to consistently digitalize its entire shipping process. Result: Secure, stable processes and approximately 30% shorter lead times.
Customers across the globe, a high proportion of hazardous goods, and numerous deliveries requiring cooling with dry ice: DELO Industrie Klebstoffe GmbH & Co. KGaA has very specific needs when it comes to shipping and transport logistics. In addition, the company is on a growth path and has seen a steady increase in shipments and exports in recent years.
“Until now, we used different IT systems in shipping. Numerous process steps were also completed manually,” explains Christian Walther, Head of Production and Logistics at DELO. Due to system inconsistencies as well as a number of document-based process steps and manual data input, large shipments sometimes involved high processing and lead times. Moreover, the process was prone to errors at some points and DELO did not have complete data transparency.
The software has been in use in all areas of DELO since 2021, and Christian Walther has nothing but praise for the solution. “We set out to implement a fully integrated software solution that would deliver an end-to-end digital process chain with greater reliability, efficiency, and automation. That is exactly what we have achieved.”
This is also reflected in the time savings that have been realized: Lead times for a shipping order decreased by around 30% on average. The most dramatic time savings happened in the shipping office, which often needed hours to process larger, complex shipments that are now handled in less than an hour.
In addition to the software, Christian Walther is also delighted by the friendly and effective cooperation with AEB, as well as the latter’s outstanding expertise: “Together with AEB, we have taken a giant stride forward in our shipping logistics.”
DELO is a leading manufacturer of high-tech adhesives and multifunctional materials with metering and curing equipment. The products are mainly used in automotive, entertainment, and industrial electronics, including in cell phones, cars, cameras, loudspeakers, electric motors, and sensors.
