The complete solution for electron beam R&D
The AEB Application Development Unit offers researchers the key components they need to verify the suitability of electron beams for their applications and accelerate their time to market with new electron beam-enabled processes. The AEB Application Development Unit is comprised of an electron emitter, conveyor with sample tray, touch screen control panel, computer controller and power supply. In addition, AEB Application Development Units are available with optional features to facilitate application-specific testing requirements, such as nitrogen inerting.
Testing electron beams across a range of applications
The flexible approach offered by AEB enables research and testing of electron beams across a variety of applications, including:
- Curing of inks and coatings on any substrate, including coated and uncoated paper, film, foil, metal and wood
- Curing of adhesives beneath labels and laminates
- Sterilization of packaging materials, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and related areas
- Surface treatment and materials modification
- Food treatment
Easy to operate, easy to maintain
The modular AEB Application Development Unit is easy to operate, requiring no previous training or expertise in electron beam technology. Because there are no pumps or other moving parts (with the exception of the conveyor system), the AEB Application Development Unit is easy to install and requires no regular or costly maintenance. When service is required, AEB offers a “plug-and-play” approach, allowing system components to be easily replaced as needed. All components can be disconnected and reconnected in a modular fashion, enabling customers to drastically reduce system downtime while minimizing their support costs.
About Advanced Electron Beams
Advanced Electron Beams is a provider of a breakthrough electron beam technology that can be applied to a wide range of industrial processes in which in-line electron beam usage was never before technically or economically feasible. Unlike conventional electron beam systems that are large, expensive and complex to maintain, AEB is capable of delivering e-beam technology in a low-cost, compact form factor. The AEB Application Development Unit leverages this innovative technology in delivering the industry’s most practical solution for researchers to test electron beam processes within their own R&D labs.
