Description:
Perform thermal, fluid, and structural analyses via hand calculations and finite-element methods; define and execute empirical studies to validate theoretical results; design systems for heat management and dissipation; collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing personnel to ensure cost-effective, producible solutions; specify materials and material joining techniques; prepare technical reports.
Preference will be given to applicants having experience with vacuum systems and/or high voltage apparatus.
Minimum Qualifications:
- M.S. in Mechanical Engineering (or B.S. with 10+ years of relevant experience)
- Excellent analytical skills
- FEA experience (COSMOS preferred)
- Experience with solid modeling (SolidWorks preferred)
- Familiarity with instrumentation, measurement, and data acquisition systems
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Pragmatic, results-oriented, collaborative attitude
