Description:
Analyze, simulate, and design electron beam optics, validating theoretical results with empirical testing; calculate electric field stress; recommend accelerator design modifications on the basis of characterization studies and sensitivity analyses; design cathodes for electron generation; specify materials of construction and joining techniques to accommodate high vacuum, high voltage, and thermal stresses; lead design teams developing major product enhancements and new ebeam platforms; simulate beam propagation in atmosphere and other media; write and present technical papers and studies; provide system-level technical support for new and existing applications, including client interface as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D./Sc.D. in Physics or Nuclear Engineering
- 5+ years of industrial experience
- Experience with charged particle beam trajectory modeling (Simion preferred) and Monte Carlo methods
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Pragmatic, results-oriented, collaborative attitude
